They have thin, streamlined bodies, with a short, wide, and rounded snout, and can be identified by the black tips on their fins.
They are light brown above with a white underside.
Blacktip Reef Sharks can be found in tropical waters in the Pacific and Indian Oceans. They prefer shallow in-shore waters, over reef ledges and sandy flats.
