Winghead Shark

Eusphyra blochii

Average Size – 4ft – 6ft

Slender shark with the typical hammer-like head and binocular vision.

Winghead Sharks can be found in tropical waters of the Indo-Pacific Ocean from the Persian Gulf to the Philippines as well as from China to Australia.

Small Fish, Crustaceans and Cephalopods.

They are bottom feeders; staying close to the ocean floor to hunt for prey.

A Winghead Shark’s head is half as long as its whole body length.

As of 2016, they are now considered endangered due to overfishing.
