Nurse Shark

Ginglymostoma cirratum

Size – 7-10ft
Weight – 200-330lbs

Nurse Sharks have large, strong jaws with thousands of tiny serrated teeth.

They have distinctive tail fins that can be up to a ¼ of their body length.

Found in the warm, shallow waters of the Western Atlantic ocean and the Eastern Pacific ocean.

Their main diet consists of: Fish, Shrimp, Crustaceans, and Squid.

They are suction feeders and will sift through the ocean floor in search of food.

Unlike most sharks, their skin is smooth to the touch.

They may appear to be meek, but they are ranked fourth for documented shark bites on humans. This can be due to their sedentary nature.
